Colour Your Imagination – Just add books invites you to (re)discover the wonder and beauty of books. Surprises await on the bookshelves and unexpected things can be found if you look beyond the book cover. HOTA’s playbook of imaginative family fun is ready for you to open from the 19th August to the 28th January.

SWELL Sculpture Festival 2023
Queensland’s largest outdoor sculpture exhibition, SWELL Sculpture Festival is on from 8-17 September on the Gold Coast.
The award-winning, free 10-day festival will feature spectacular large-scale sculptures, installations, digital artworks and performance art from over 190 local, interstate and international artists.
The coastal landscape of the Gold Coast provides the ideal backdrop to create a strong visual impact. The festival will showcase over 75 large-scale sculptures and transform Currumbin Beach plus various other Gold Coast locations into an outdoor sculpture park that inspires and captures the heart of visitors.

Show off your creative talent these school holidays at Coomera Westfield’s Coomera Customisation Station from Mon 18 September to Sunday 24 September from 10am – 2pm daily.
Kids can personalise a pencil case or BYO their own apparel and accessories (think: bucket hats, denim jackets, cotton t-shirts, canvas bags and backpacks) to create something as unique as them!
Kids can customise one item (BYO or pencil case) in the Customisation Station per day. Pencil cases are strictly while stocks last.
BYO items must be made from denim, cotton, or canvas materials in order to be heat pressed and will be at the discretion of event staff. Westfield Coomera is not liable for personal property that is damaged as a result of customisation, i.e. heat press, markers, wash and wear etc.

Lego in the Vale – Free School Holiday Event

BRICKS 4 KIDZ will return to the Helensvale Library and Cultural Centre during the June/July school holidays, to provide an interactive and fun LEGO experience for children aged between 6 – 12 years old on Thursday, 21st September.
Children will complete LEGO building activities using LEGO Technic Project Kits, Mosaic and Colour Builds, and copious amounts of Free Play LEGO.
Two session times: 10am – 12pm and 1pm – 3pm
Children will need to be signed in to, and out from the event by a known adult. They will not be required to stay for the full 2 hours, but will need to be collected by the end of their session.
Maximum of 40 participants per session. Click the ‘reserve a spot’ button to secure your spot. Walk-ins are welcome on the day but cannot be guaranteed a spot.
The sessions will be held upstairs in the Auditorium at Helensvale Library and Cultural Centre.

Go Hunting Minions at the 2023 Cane Mulch Minions Festival
2023 promises to be the biggest event yet! This year, the Minion Trail Route has been extended to take in the suburb of Norwell.
This year’s event runs from Monday the 25th of September to Monday the 2nd of October (King’s Birthday Holiday).

Free Family Fun Day – Parkwood
You’re invited to a fantastic free family fun day at Abbott Park, Parkwood on Tuesday, 26th September from 12pm to 13pm.
Enjoy an array of activities for both kids and parents, including a challenging rock-climbing wall, a whimsical Thomas the Tank Engine ride, inflatable football shootout, mechanical wipe out machine, and extreme obstacle course.
The North Gold Coast Seahawks basketball team will be showcasing their skills while Parkwood Rotary volunteers fire up the BBQ for a crowd favourite, the sausage sizzle! Rock out to some of the greatest hits with a live DJ and get creative with a talented face painter entertaining the tots. And finally, float away in our bean bag chill out zone.

Under the Sea School Holiday Fun at Stockland Burleigh Heads
There’s so much to do “Under the Sea” these school holidays.
Meet a mermaid or get creative at our nautical inspired craft workshops. Best of all it’s FREE, no bookings required. These activities will be located at the Burleigh Book Nook near Mister Minit.
