Hope Island Tavern is a family friendly pub and a great choice for a family dinner out:

Kids Play Area

The outdoor play area is a fully fenced playground with rubber flooring. The playground features tunnels, houses, a peep through window, abacus style game and a slide.

The indoor play room is jungle themed and a little narrow. It has a TV and skill tester style games.

The Food

We placed a mobile order which was super easy. Simply scan the QR code with your phone’s camera to access the website to access the menu and place your bistro food and drink order whilst you sit at your table. Your order is then delivered to your table when ready.

Just like the Coomera Lodge, Hope Island Tavern have the super affordable $6 Design Your Own Kid’s Meals. You can also add an ice cream or frog in the pond jelly dessert for $2 or a juice or soft drink for $3. The Build Your Own Kid’s Meal feature allows you to customise your kid’s meals from their Mix & Match options, perfect for the fussy or not so fussy eaters. Also good for Mum’s as it give us the ability to add some veggies to the kid’s meals.

It is also great to see that Hope Island Tavern have $15 meals for seniors, you just have to present your seniors card.

For everyone else, Hope Island Tavern have a varied menu of meals with lots of pub classics including smaller plates or starters, salads, burgers and sandwiches, pizza, fish and steak. On our visit we ordered a selection of starters and a steak for Mum and Dad to share and a dinosaur pizza and chicken nuggets with mash and veggies and chips and veggies for the toddlers. All the meals were presented nicely and lovely to eat.

Atmosphere and Staff

Staff at Hope Island Tavern were friendly and helpful. The bistro offers both indoor and outdoor (undercover) seating. If you want to make use of the playground and indoor kid’s room I would recommend asking for a table in the outside seating area which is closer to these facilities.

Toddler Review

Hope Island Tavern is a good choice for a nice family meal out. They have the two kids play spaces and a really good menu for families.

The outdoor play area or playground is the better of the two play spaces. However if it rains at least you have an option of somewhere to play with the indoor play room. Both areas are best accessed if you are sitting in the outside dining area.

I really love the build your own kids meal and the price of the kid’s meal and other menu items are quite affordable for families who want to have dinner out on the Gold Coast.
