Toddler and Mummy Review
We stayed at Paradise Resort Gold Coast on an extended family weekend staycation. Paradise Resort was an ideal destination as we were holidaying with 4 plus families with children ranging from infants to teens. Whilst it wasn’t the destination of choice for the grandparents in attendance all the kids had a blast!
With the kids so well entertained, the parents also had a great time grabbing some much needed rest and relaxation by the pool. As you can imagine, getting a rare break from constantly entertaining our small children we were pretty stoked with our choice of such a kid-friendly resort too!
For the parent’s with younger children (i.e. me) it was great to get a little more time to myself whilst the bigger kids entertained the littlies with adults looking on. But it was even nicer to see all the cousins playing together.
From our weekend family getaway experience, Paradise Resort Gold Coast is a great holiday resort for families with children of all ages and a great place to go with a bigger group too.
We spent the majority of our stay by the pools and waterpark wandering off occasionally to check out the playground, activities, grab a bite or a cocktail! As we were only there for the weekend there really were enough free activities to keep the whole family entertained for our stay. There are a heap of paid fun activities for all ages to consider if you are staying longer or perhaps not as interested in the pools and waterpark as we were.
There are a number of different places to grab a snack or a meal. Paradise Resort really does have everything you need so you don’t have to leave the resort. We also took snacks, fresh fruit and cereal and drinks to reduce the meal costs for the weekend (and because our toddlers are early risers), there is a small fridge in the rooms. On our first night, our group decided to bring everything needed for a family BBQ using the BBQ area behind the waterpark. If you do want to venture out of the resort, there is a light rail station nearby and you are just a few short metres from Surfers Paradise Beach
We received a free 4 hour Kids Club session for each child with our accommodation package so all the adults had an even rarer night out poolside with cocktails and nibbles whilst all the children (babies to teens) were well looked after in Kids Club for the night. The Kids Club set-up is amazing. Harper was the most reluctant at 2 years but soon settled in exploring all the fun to be had in the 0 to 2 years Kids Zone. Tip with Kids Club is to book as soon as you can as time slots fill up fast!
Staying at Paradise Resort Gold Coast really is like staying on a ‘cruise ship on land’. If you are missing your cruise holidays or simply want a holiday destination your toddler is going to love (Fletcher and Harper are still talking about it and we visited in September!) then take a closer look at Paradise Resort for your next family holiday.
What to pack (suggestions)
- Snack foods, nibbles and drinks to enjoy in your room.
- To save on dining costs consider packing a BBQ dinner for your first night and cereal supplies for low cost breakfasts.
- Hats, Swimmers and Sunscreen.
- We packed some toys for our stay but they were not needed as there was just some many activities and outdoor adventures to be had.
