Kids onsite programs are now back on the menu at the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) in Brisbane:
Art Starter Program
Babies 4 – 12 months, together with their parents and carers, can explore a selected QAGOMA exhibition through a short interactive walking tour. This program explores the stories behind select artworks while engaging babies through games, song and movement. Families will each receive a teething ring and at-home activity suggestions to further explore the themes of the tour. This program acknowledges that babies are a valid audience for art and like you, they can also be stimulated and engaged while looking at art.
The upcoming Art Starters program will explore key artworks in the I, Object exhibition. This exhibition considers the relationships Indigenous Australian artists have to objects, from the history of their creation to the consequences of their collection.
Art Starters is a free program scheduled on select Wednesdays. The next session of the upcoming program will take place on 3rd March 2021, subject to change in line with any new Queensland Government Health restrictions that may arise. This program runs for approximately 25 minutes at Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA). Two session times 10.15am and 11.15am.
Sessions are Free. Bookings are required.

Art Explorer Program
Art Explorers (formerly Toddler Tuesday) uses games, singing and storytelling to encourage children aged 3 – 5 years, along with their parents and carers, to have fun while learning about art. Each session explores a single artwork in the Gallery’s Collection.
At the end of the session, each child can take home an activity pack to make their own creation inspired by the focus artwork.
During the first program, participants will discover the artwork )Ku’ (Camp Dog) by artist Craig Koomeeta.
This program is located at the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA). There are two session times 10.15am and 11.15am.
Art Explorers sessions are free and scheduled fortnightly from March to November. Capacity is limited and bookings are essential. To allow as many children and families as possible to participate, only one session may be booked in each 3 month cycle.
