The newly renovated Wallaby Hotel in Mudgeeraba is now a super family friendly pub with a great outdoor deck with a fenced kid’s play area with playground.

The recent $2.3 million paid on renovations was well spent. The public bar, bistro, outdoor deck, kids play area and gaming room have all had a complete re-vamp and new dishes added to the menu, which will focus on meat from the grill as well as pub classics and kid friendly dishes.
Outdoor Playground
The refurbed kids play area is great. If your kids are big enough you can sit back and relax on the deck whilst they play in the fully fenced play area. The area features a very cute mini Wallaby Hotel, train structure, interactive games on the walls and a large playground for climbing with lots of tunnels and slides.
The Food
We placed a mobile order which was super easy. Simply scan the QR code with your phone’s camera to access the website to access the menu and place your bistro food and drink order whilst you sit at your table. Your order is then delivered to your table when ready.
The menu is filled with all the local favourites, as well as a few new dishes. The menu offers a range of shared starters and pub classics – think schnittys, grilled steak, burgers, beef short ribs and grilled barramundi.
Kids Meals are $7. You can add an ice cream for $2 or a juice or soft drink for $3. There are 3 options to choose from Nuggets, Fish and Ham & Cheese Pizza – all served with chips.
Definitely worth the visit especially this January 2021 using the Happy Days Deal outlined below.

Atmosphere and Staff
Although the staff were super busy during our visit they were still friendly and helpful..
We loved the atmosphere outside near the playground in the new deck area. Inside has had a refresh and is the place to book if you are looking for AC with your meal.
I love that they have kept the heritage features of the pub – it was established in 1883 and is an iconic landmark in Mudgeeragba.
Toddler Review
We absolutely loved the refurbed deck and kids play area. If you make a booking I suggest you request a table on the deck near the playground. On our visit the deck area was filled with families having a meal and it had a very relaxed friendly atmosphere. I can also see this area coming alive later in the night for couples to enjoy some shared starters and live music.
After visiting Coomera Lodge we found the Wallaby menu very simple with less options. There are only 3 options for kid’s meals and none were served with salad or vege – just chips. The main menu seemed to have less options as well but it does have a larger selection of shared starters and desserts which explains the reduced range of main meals. The Wallaby is catering for both the lunch/dinner crowd and also providing shared plates for those visiting for live music and sport. Our group ordered the Striploin Steak with a fried egg topper, Beef Short Ribs and Bangers and Mash. All the meals were a good size, cooked nicely and lovely to eat. The kids meals weren’t anything to write home about but they did the job and the kid’s plates were empty at the end.
You really can’t go wrong if you get out and experience the NEW Wallaby Hotel in January 2021 between 5 and 6pm and try the mobile ordering.

Went here tonight. Great kids area but no guarantee you will be seated near playground. Called up and requested seats for a group near playground and they sat us inside. Very frustrating and no accountability.
